First ever victory on a downhill race for Saugy

6. October 2010

This weekend took place the final of the Maxiavalanche cup in Flims (GR, Switzerland). This type of race is held over 2 days. The first day the racers do a qualification run that will determine their spot on the line for the Sunday race. The classification is based on 2 runs. The course is a freeride course designed mainly off the tracks. It's usually opened only for the race. Myriam who used to be a long distance specialist until 2009 signs here her first ever victory on a downhill race. The track suited her perfectly. She could erease her weaker technical skills with her top fitness. The fight for the first place was however hard. Therefore the victory flavor is even better. This is a great mark to finish the season after making the podium on 2 enduro races (Torgon in August and Rallye du Mercantour in September). There is one more race to go for Myriam: this saturday Roc d'Azur cross country.
