Brennwald improves the world record for the double Ironman distance

The ultra-distance specialist successfully defended his World Champion title in the double Ironman distance in Neulengbach, Austria. In the process, he improved on the existing world record by around four minutes.

With the new best time, Brennwald confirmed his brilliant performances at varied ultra distances. He was previously World Champion in 2007 and 2010 in the double Ironman distance and last year he also won the World Championship in the triple (!) Ironman distance. On his journey to the title with the new world record, Brennwald completed 7.6 kilometers of swimming, 360 kilometers of cycling and 84 kilometers of running.
