BMC Mountainbike Racing Team: Preview – European Marathon Championships & Racer Cup

11. June 2011

Kleinzell/Austria & Engelberg-Titlis/Switzerland

BMC Mountainbike Racing Team is splitting up its roster this weekend. While Alexandre Moos is representing Switzerland at the European MTB Marathon Championships in Kleinzell (Austria), his teammates Julien Tamarcaz, Patrik Gallati, and Balz Weber line up against the likes of current World cross country Champion Jose Hermida (Multivan Merida) at the Swiss Racer Cup.

The fifth round of the 2011 Swiss Racer Cup is hosted by the ski resort Engelberg-Titlis. Where Nordic athletes are jumping down the mountain, some of the best mountainbikers of the world are scheduled to slide through the mud this weekend.

There are a few gaps in the regular Swiss Cup start list. BMC-rider Miritz Milatz, for example, is using the weekend following his German national title defence to recover and build up for the upcoming world cup races in North America. Many other riders are equally putting in a training block before resuming racing for the second part of the season. Patrik Gallati is hailing straight from high-altitude training with the Swiss national team to spice up his training with some race mileage.
