granfondo GF02 endurance

The granfondo is built by BMC for the Spring Classics, but the same features that make it perfect on those races smooth out the road ahead of you, no matter where or how long you're riding. Vertical compliance, stable handling, immediate power transfer and reliability are factors necessary to succeed in the northern races but they’re also on top of the wish list of any recreational rider. Sure, the granfondo reduces the suffering of the pros in Paris Roubaix, the “Hell of the North”, but it also enhances the riding experience for us mere mortals.

Thanks to the tapered 1-1/8 to 1 1/2-inch steerer tube, oversized down tube, and massive chain stays, the bike corners like it is on rails, going exactly where you pilot it without any fuss or hesitation. Naturally, it converts every ounce of pedal pressure into forward acceleration. The GF02 frame is made out of high-end triple butted and hydroformed aluminum and clearly belongs to the very lightest alloy frames out there, only 100g heavier than the full carbon GF01 in the anodized finish.

Vertical Compliance
For the granfondo GF02 we adapted TCC and Angle Compliance for aluminium. With these technologies we reach more vertical compliance than ever seen before for an aluminium frame, being even more comfortable than most carbon frames.
Designed around and specified with wide tires this bike lets you tackle the roughest roads with ease.

Lightweight
The granfondo GF02 proves that it is possible to build an aluminium frame that is light, stiff and comfortable at the same time. We used the best knowledge available to build a frame that is as light as possible. Weighing just 1100 g, this frame is lighter than many carbon frames.

Our frames are future proof. With a growing selection of electronic groupsets, electronic shifting is becoming more popular and affordable. For this reason, all our new road frames are compatible with electronic shifting. You want to update to the latest high end technology? No problem with a BMC frame. Even our entry level Granfondo GF02 bike is compatible with Di2.

DTi leaves you total freedom in your choice of groupsets. The one frame is cleverly designed to accept every transmission possibility; electronic or mechanical transmission. That is Dual Transmission integration. You have clean cable routing with mechanical shifting, but if you switch to Di2 no unnecessary cable stops are left, all the holes are in the right place for minimal exposed electronic cables and a clean look.
