With the Raelert brothers on board, BMC has underlined the extent of its ambitions in the triathlon sector. The two triathletes from Rostock are among the best long-distance specialists in the world. Andreas achieved second place in each of the last two outings of the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii and then went on to secure the European championship title over the long distance at the 2010 Ironman Frankfurt, while Michael produced a huge surprise win at the 2009 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. But as if to prove that this success was no mere fluke, last year the younger of the two brothers was able to secure victory in all Ironman 70.3 events he tackled. In the grand final of the Ironman 70.3 Series, the competition had to acknowledge the superiority of Michael Raelert, as he left his co-competitors standing and secured for himself a second world championship title in a row. The talented brothers now start the coming season with their eyes on the big prize - crossing the finishing line together at Ironman Hawaii with hands joined in victory. The timemachine TT01 will smooth the road to further success for these powerful cyclists, while the two athletes will at the same time feed back their knowledge into the development of new BMC products.
