The BMC Racing Team began a three-day stretch of training camp that will include plenty of pictures, video and interviews – as well as riding.

Training Ride For The Cameras
Tuesday’s training ride began as a video shoot to gather footage for the Versus network. The segments shot from a van and during interviews shot that afternoon in the team’s hotel will be used during race coverage throughout the season. World champion Cadel Evans showed off his rainbow jersey for the first time in the United States by leading much of the training ride. The Australian later chipped in as translator for Versus’ interview with teammate and former world champion himself, Alessandro Ballan, who speaks Italian.

All About BMC
As it has throughout training camp, the BMC Racing Team also spent time Tuesday night in the classroom. This time it was BMC Chief Executive Officer Mike Hürlimann who delivered a presentation educating the team’s 20 riders and managers about the BMCs they will be riding throughout the 2010 season. As the company’s main sales and marketing tool, the BMC Racing Team will be heavily involved in product development, Hürlimann said. He also reminded them that the bicycles they are riding, the BMC pro machine SLC01 and the BMC racemaster SLX01, are the same models the public can purchase at dealers or through the company’s website. A similar presentation will be made to members of the media who are on hand for Wednesday’s media day at camp.
