Tour de Wallonie, Stage 1: Setting Up The Sprint

24. July 2010

Lessines, Belgium

The BMC Racing Team's plan to deliver Alexander Kristoff to a good finish on Stage 1 of the Tour de Wallonie went askew when the Norwegian sprinter was sandwiched in the final sprint.

Looking Ahead
"He had to hit his brakes with 200 meters to go," said teammate John Murphy, the rider leading out Kristoff. Danilo Napolitano (Team Katusha) won the race. BMC Racing Team Assistant Director René Savary said Sunday should be another day for the sprinters. "We will try it again," Savary said. "The guys are learning how to make a train to bring it to a good end. Tomorrow is another day."
