Ronde van het Groene Hart: Kristoff Takes Field Sprint

21. March 2010

Zoetermeer, Netherlands

Alexander Kristoff won the field sprint Sunday at Ronde van het Groene Hart after the BMC Racing Team did not place anyone in the decisive break of the Dutch semi-classic.

Initial Move Stays Away

Jens Mouris (Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team) soloed away from a group of 15 riders in the last 10 km of the 207.4 km race to win by 11 seconds. Kristoff placed 16th, leading a group of 44 riders in 2:06 later. Mouris was earlier part of a 33-man move that escaped the field without anyone from the BMC Racing Team. “If we would have made that initial group 33, we would have been fine,” Assistant Sport Director Mike Sayers said. “Those guys were flying. They averaged 48 kph.”
