Morabito Gets Good Start At Tour de Romandie

27. April 2010

Porrentruy, Switzerland

Steve Morabito was the best-placed finisher for the BMC Racing Team Tuesday as the Tour de Romandie began with a 4.3-kilometer prologue through the streets of Porrentruy, Switzerland.

Somewhat Fatigued

Morabito powered his BMC Time Machine TT01 to 21st place, only nine seconds slower than stage winner Marco Pinotti (HTC-Columbia). The Swiss said he was motivated to do well in his native country. “But I also felt the three Ardennes Classics in my legs, especially the 260 kilometers of Liège-Bastogne-Liège,” Morabito said. Wednesday's 175 km stage includes two major climbs. “We will look to get guys like Michael Schär to get in a breakaway so Steve and the other guys can stay relaxed in the bunch,” said BMC Racing Team Assistant Director René Savary.
