Klaas Lodewyck finished 11th and Alessandro Ballan was 12th on Tuesday's stage of the Vuelta a España while Steve Morabito – the BMC Racing Team's best-placed rider in the overall standings – set his sights on the race's only time trial on Wednesday.

Technical, Challenging Course
The 39.4-kilometer point-to-point race against the clock will be a technical one, Morabito said. The 13 kilometers leading into a Category 3 climb feature plenty of right and left turns and up and down sections, Morabito said. "It's a really long climb, too," he said. "You never see the top until you get right to the top. Then it's a really technical downhill. It's not really one for the time trial specialists." Morabito moved up one spot (from 18th to 17th) in the overall standings as John Degenkolb (Argos-Shimano) won his third stage. Joaquin Rodriguez (Katusha Team) kept the overall lead, 4:29 ahead of Morabito.
