BMC Racing Team Ready For Success In California

14. maggio 2010

Sacramento, California

U.S. national champion George Hincapie and Norwegian sprinter Alexander Kristoff will hunt for stage wins while the BMC Racing Team will look to Hincapie and Swiss Steve Morabito for the overall at the Amgen Tour of California.

Race Begins Sunday

BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Michael Sayers said the eight-day, 1,304-kilometer race suits Hincapie, a stage winner here in 2006 and 2008. "If he rides like he is capable of riding and his form is good, George can have some GC aspirations," Sayers said. "Kristoff will have at least one opportunity to win a stage and George will have several opportunities."

Competing On Two Continents
President Jim Ochowicz said plans took shape in January for the BMC Racing Team to field a pair of competitive teams for both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour of California. "Because we did our training camp in California, we had the opportunity to do some course reconnaissance," Ochowicz said. "So we evaluated the personnel and the kind of equipment we might be using on some of the stages."
