BMC Racing Team Eyes Sprint Finish At Vattenfall Cyclassics

18. agosto 2011

Hamburg, Germany

A sprint finish would play to the strengths of the BMC Racing Team assembled for Sunday's Vattenfall Cyclassics, a one-day race that starts and finishes in Hamburg, Germany.

Kristoff Confident

BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato said the squad will work to set up Alexander Kristoff at the end of the 216.5 kilometer race. Fourth here a year ago, the reigning Norwegian national road champion finished seventh Sunday in a test race on the Olympics course in London. "My shape is good so I am confident that I can make a good result," Kristoff said. Michael Schär, who has helped guide teammates Cadel Evans and Greg Van Avermaet to several race wins this year, said it's not just the finish that is key to the race. "There is also the Waseberg (which is climbed three times) where positioning is really important," Schär said. "So we'll work hard to bring our sprinter to the front there."
