Kali Open Enduro Métabief, France. Inside Race Report - Francois Bailly-Maître, BMC MTB Racing Team

11. May 2013

This weekend's Open Enduro race in Métabief marked the start of the official enduro season for BMC MTB Racing Team riders Sylvain Golay and me.

In our final preparation race before the first Enduro World Series Race, we wanted to test the equipment and ourselves. Even though some riders decided not to start in the cold weather conditions one week before Punto Ala, the level of the start field was really high.

We performed really well on race Saturday, winning 2 (me) and 1 (Florian) out of 4 chrono sessions and finished the first day with a first and third place in the overall ranking. Due to bad weather conditions on Sunday, the organisation decided to change and reduce the last stage, a decision not in favour of us, as it would appear. We both finally lost one place in the general ranking, making it 2 and 4 for BMC MTB Racing Team, the win went to Jérôme Clemetz.

Still, this was a very successful final test before next weekend's EWS. We are extremely motivated and pleased with our bikes and the atmosphere in the team so I am sure great results will follow!

Cheers, Francois.
