Tour de Pologne, Stage 2: Kristoff Top 10 Again

2. August 2010

Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland

Alexander Kristoff of the BMC Racing Team scored his second straight top 10 finish Monday when he finished eighth in a bunch sprint that capped the 240-kilometer second stage of the Tour de Pologne.

Better Prospects On Stage 3

Kristoff said teammates Danilo Wyss and defending Tour de Pologne champion Alessandro Ballan worked him into good position on the final lap of the circuit finish. "But in the last last kilometer, I was out in the wind a bit too much so I didn't have as much power left for the sprint," Kristoff said. Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia) won the race and Allan Davis (Astana) took the overall lead. Tuesday's stage is 122 km from Sosnowiec to Katowice and includes seven laps of an up-and-down 11 km circuit. "Tomorrow will probably be another sprint, but it's more technical – something I like," Kristoff said.
