Adam Blythe was the BMC Racing Team’s best finisher ranked as 18th and Phinney crossed the line in the peloton, 5 seconds after the stage winner. « We still protect Taylor (Phinney) and Alessandro (Ballan) before the last stages, because we know it’s not on these kind of stages as today that they can earn time but we have to avoid them to lose some. » said Sciandri.
