Soon turning 66 and not a bit tired … Georges Probst crosses South America

21. December 2010

Others book relaxing cruises in the Mediterranean or spend their holidays on the beach at this age. Not Georges Probst. Shortly before his 66th birthday, the passionate bike rider will turn his back on cold Switzerland and fly to Uchuaia, Argentina on January 2. His luggage includes his BMC Cargo as well as around 35 kg of baggage that he will transport on his Cargo, split up into several bags. Packed in this manner, he will spend the following months crossing all of South America, from the south to the north - with daily legs of up to 100 km in the most varied of climate zones. A hardness test both for man and material. But it is not Georges' first long trip by bike: From November 2005 to March 2007, Georges traveled from Sydney to Neuchâtel - and brought thousands of impressions and emotions home with him.

Last Monday, Georges picked up the Cargo from BMC and told us a little about his preparations and plans. Anyone interested can follow Georges on his trip at www.amsud-che-40.ch. We will also publish regular updates on our website - Georges has promised us pictures and news.

Well then, good luck!
