Tour of Qatar, Stage 2: Quinziato On The Front

8. February 2011

Doha Golf Club, Qatar

Manuel Quinziato figured prominently for the BMC Racing Team Tuesday in a five-man breakaway at the Tour of Qatar. The Italian won both of the day's intermediate sprints before his group was caught in the final seven kilometers.

'I Felt Good'

"Monday wasn't  a good day, so today I took my first chance to get a victory with the team," Quinziato said. "I felt good and we were five strong guys. It was a pity that last 50 kilometers was all head wind and that three teams worked hard to catch us." Heinrich Haussler (Garmin-Cervelo) took the stage while Tom Boonen (Quick Step) kept the overall lead.
