Tour of Austria, Stage 5: Setting Up Stalder

8. July 2010

Deutschlandsberg, Austria

With the finish of Thursday's stage of the Tour of Austria on a steep uphill, the BMC Racing Team successfully set up Florian Stalder for a 12th-place finish.

Lead-out From Schär
The BMC Racing Team did not have anyone in a 13-man breakaway that escaped 100 kilometers from the finish. But even a furious chase was not enough to catch two of the escapees and Nick Nuyens (Rabobank) got the win. Riccardo Ricco (Ceramica Flaminia) retained his overall lead. "Michael Schär brought me into good position for the final climb," Stalder said. "The last kilometer was really steep."
