13. June 2011

Grindelwald, Switzerland

On a short grueling test that began uphill from the gun, the BMC Racing Team found themselves represented in the second group of riders on the road after missing out on an early break that solidified following the category one ascent of Grimselpass.

Special day for Frank tomorrow

Mathias Frank was the top finisher for the team on the third stage of Tour de Suisse as he descending into Grindelwald in 17th place. Johann Tschopp finished 20 seconds and two places behind Frank. He now slots into 13th on the general classification. "I couldn't follow the very best guys today on the last very steep climb and lost some time and places in GC. Top Ten is still possible for me and there are some hard stages coming up. The finish on Tuesday is close to where I grew up and I know the final very well. So it's gonna be a special day for me even though I think it will be a stage for the sprinters," told Mathias Frank. The road kicks up again on Thursday with a mountain finish in Malbun in Liechtenstein.
