Team Approach Is Strategy For GP de Wallonie

12. September 2011

Chaudfontaine, Belgium

With a pair of top 10 finishes under its belt from one-day weekend races in Belgium and France, the BMC Racing Team heads to Wednesday's Grand Prix de Wallonie looking to continue that success.

Strong Team Attitude

Michael Schär, who led out Alexander Kristoff to a runner-up finish Sunday at GP de Fourmies, said the BMC Racing Team is focused on teamwork in a more than 200 kilometer race that finishes with a twisting, cobblestoned climb. "We have a good team spirit here in our so-called 'Tour de Izegem,'" he said. "We're gonna work well as a team and see who is the strongest on the day. I'm feeling strong and Steve (Morabito) and Marcus (Burghardt) are also in good shape." BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato said the race is part of Taylor Phinney's preparations for the worlds. "We're not looking to him for a result, but you never know" Baldato said. "The next two races he does will help him keep his race speed."
