Networking in Down Under

22. January 2010

Adelaide

The Tour Down Under is not only interesting to the BMC Racing Team from a sporting point of view.  Also off the tarmac, the team around World Champion Cadel Evans is presenting itself in good shape.

Consequently, the Head Directeur Sportif John Lelangue and PR/Media Officer Georges Luechinger were honored with an invitation to the cocktail reception at the private residence of the South Australia Tourism Minister, Jane Lomax-Smith.   Also invited were Mike Rann the Prime Minister of South Australia, UCI President Pat McQuaid, and various Directeur Sportifs from other teams were invited.  Of course, the organizers responsible for the Tour Down Under were also present, most notably Director Mike Turtur.   And though Networking was the main object of the evening, BMC nevertheless remained the main topic of discussion.  This is largely due to Cadel Evan’s impressive third place performance in the Tour’s third stage.  “We are so proud that the BMC Racing Team and Cadel are here at the race, and we all keep our fingers crossed that he will continue riding so well,” exclaimed the Tourism Minister with enthusiasm.
