BMC Racing Team Ready For Busy Week

10. September 2012

Two races in Belgium and one in France lie ahead this week for the BMC Racing Team. GP de Wallonie on Wednesday is followed by Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen-Koolskamp on Friday and GP d'Isbergues on Sunday.

Advice From A Former Winner
Greg Van Avermaet, runner-up at the recent Grand Prix de Québec, is among the BMC Racing Team riders who will be competing in all three. "GP de Wallonie is going to be a hard race," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said. "I think Greg, if he's recovered from his trip from Canada, can do something there." Mauro Santambrogio is also looking forward to the 203.1-kilometer race that finishes with the uphill climb to the Citadelle de Namur. "I spoke with (two-time race winner) Philippe Gilbert, who said it's a good finish for me," Santambrogio said. "I hope I have the good condition. I'll use the two days between the Vuelta and the race to get good rest and recovery." Klaas Lodewyck, a key contributor on the BMC Racing Team squad that won three stages of the Vuelta a España, said having a nearly identical roster for the three races is an advantage. "These are races where we have a very good team and can expect to do well and win," he said.
