Ballan, Van Avermaet Will Lead At Waregem

Fresh off their top 10 finishes at Milan-San Remo, Alessandro Ballan and Greg Van Avermaet will lead the BMC Racing Team Wednesday at Dwars door Vlaanderen-Waregem.

Ballan was fourth and Van Avermaet ninth at Milan-San Remo. Van Avermaet was 11th in this race last year. "The team is in good shape with our performances in the last races," he said. "We're motivated to do a good classics period. For myself, I hope I have good recovery from Milan-San Remo and confirm my good form in the next races." BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said: "This is a mini Tour of Flanders – pretty difficult, hilly, with some cobblestones."
