The BMC brand is closely connected with professional cycling and has been a formidable partner for world class athletes for years now. After achieving a great many successes through its commitment to road cycling, BMC wants to transfer the creative collaboration between manufacturer and athletes to the mountain bike sector by establishing its own BMC Mountain Bike Racing Team. The platform for this ambitious project is provided by a team of six riders led by David Chassot and Alex Moos. In assembling the team, BMC has relied on a proven mix of younger and older riders: the multiple value brought to the team by Patrik Gallati, Julien Taramarcaz and Yves Corminboeuf is demonstrated by their versatile record of achievement which - as well as success in competitive mountain biking - also boasts respectable results in road cycling and cyclocross. In the new team, the three upcoming riders are set to close the gap on the cream of international mountain biking while at the same time maintaining sufficient capacity to continue setting the standards in road racing and cyclocross. Moritz Milatz, the 2010 German national champion, is new to the colors of the BMC Mountain Bike Racing Team and, after a mixed season, sees himself in a positive environment in which he can once again forge ahead to the forefront of the international field in the coming season. As well as fulfilling his role in team management, Alex Moos will continue to remain on active duty on the professional circuit and will contest primarily marathon competitions. Balz Weber, the 2003 U23 world champion, has already ridden for BMC in the past and together with Moos will concentrate on the longer distances on the mountain bike circuit. Running with the teamelite TE01 and the fourstroke FS01, the riders will be competing courtesy of BMC's latest crop of innovations in material technology.
