BMC Racing Team Solid On Final Day In Utah

14. August 2011

Snowbird Ski Resort, Utah

With Chris Butler finishing eighth on the final stage and Jeff Louder winning the Best Utah Rider jersey to go along with a 10th place finish overall, the BMC Racing Team finished strong at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah.

Louder Proud

Butler said the final 10 kilometer grind up to Snowbird Ski Resort played to his strengths. "The slower the climb, the better I am," Butler said. "There was also a hard day leading up to it. I guess that suits me better." Stage winner Sergio Henao (Gobernacion de Antioguia-Indeportes Antiquia) was shadowed to the line by overall winner Levi Leipheimer (Team Radioshack). Butler arrived 2:33 later, Louder finished 12th at 3:46 and Chad Beyer was also in the top 20 for the BMC Racing Team in 16th (at 5:02). Louder said earning his first Best Utah Rider title capped a good week that saw him finish sixth on Stage 2. "It's a dream come true for me to be able to race in my home state in front of my friends and family," Louder said. "And I'm doubly honored to be able to win the Miller Lite Best Utah Rider jersey. It's kind of the cherry on top."
