Ankunft des BMC Racing Teams in Australien

8. janvier 2011

Adelaide, Australia

The BMC Racing Team arrived in Adelaide, Australia, early Sunday  to prepare for the Santos Tour Down Under, its first competition as a ProTeam.

Relaxed Reconnaissance

Riders Alessandro Ballan, Alexander Kristoff, John Murphy, Simon Zahner, Tim Roe, Martin Kohler and Amaël Moinard will have plenty of time to get acclimated to the time difference and mid-summer weather conditions before the race gets underway with a criterium Jan. 16. "We'll use the time as a way to get everyone's legs nice and ready and make sure everybody is ready to race the real event," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Michael Sayers said.

Hometown Hero
Tim Roe, who lives in Adelaide, is sure to be one of the fan favorites. Riding for Team UniSA in the Tour Down Under last year, he finished 13th overall and wore the King of the Mountains jersey for a time before finishing fourth in that competition. "Tim will be showing us around a little bit and telling us about the key areas of the stages," Sayers said. "The first couple days we'll try and enjoy ourselves and be relaxed about the whole thing. There's a lot to do and a lot to see. I want to make sure the guys are having fun and that we don't really ratchet up the pressure until the race starts."
