2nd for Kerstin Kögler in Willingen

15. June 2014

Willingen (GER)

The race in Willingen started with a prologue taking place right after Saturday's training. Riders were presented with an interesting course, that was laid out like a ski slalom race, but on a grass hill. Spectators witnessed some spectacular slipping and sliding as the riders tried to take the shortest lines and curve their way around the poles.

Kerstin was the fastest down the slippery hill on her trailfox TF01 just 0.063 seconds ahead of the next competitor. With this successful result in the prologue, the race was officially on, and Kerstin was motivated to attack on the 5 stages the following day; on the menu: 27 kilometers and 1,000 vertical meters.
"The sections on the course were very diversified. I clocked the best time on the longest stage, which gave me lots of confidence. However, I lost precious time in the last run when I slipped on the grass. Probably, that cost me the top spot but I am happy about coming second and looking forward to the Enduro World Series in Valloire next weekend!" explained Kerstin.
