UCI MTB Marathon World Championships, Kirchberg/Tyrol (Austria)

June 26, 2013 - Grenchen. BMC's long distance expert Jérémy Huguenin from Neuchatel will contest the Marathon World Championships in Kirchberg (Austria) on Sunday. After his second place in the BerGiBike marathon race last weekend he is optimistic.

The 24-year-old BMC rider finished the 79 km long BerGiBike race from Fribourg to Bulle only 41 seconds behind two-time marathon world champion Christoph Sauser.

Huguenin was the only rider able to follow Sauser in the rainy conditions. „At first I was a bit unsure, but after half an hour I realized that I had good legs," Huguenin reports about his exploit. There can be no doubt that he will now rely on good rest and hopes to be able to deliver the same splendid kind of performance in Kirchberg/Tyrol on Saturday.

There, 94 kilometers and 4400 meters of altitude are waiting for the Romand on his BMC Team Elite TE01. "Of course, I am very happy about this result and about my race performance," he says and faces the future with confidence: „It holds great promise for the World Championships."
