Turning the tables and retaining the lead in Solothurn!

10. May 2014

Solothurn, Switzerland - BMC Racing Cup

Solothurn hosts the third leg of the BMC Racing Cup which will be an integral part of the Bike Days Festival. The BMC Mountainbike Racing Team intends to break the World Champion's winning streak. Team captain Julien Absalon has both shape and motivation to do so.

Most certainly the riders already have the next World Cup in mind which will take place in Nove Mesto in two weeks time. But performing in front of the overwhelming scenery of the Bike Days, just 15 kilometers away from the BMC headquarters in Grenchen, will surely motivate Julien Absalon and his team mates to giving a good performance and stopping the three-year winning streak of World Champion Nino Schurter.

In 2013 Julien Absalon had finished second after a tough fight, and Moritz Milatz had also suffered defeat the year before.

This year German Champion Milatz will line up at the start, leading the men's standings for the first time. "My goal is to defend the leader's jersey. I had no jet lag after my return from Australia and I have put in some quality training," said Milatz.

After their double win in Haiming, both Ralph Näf and Lukas Flückiger are also expected to play decisive roles in Solothurn. "I'm not pressuring myself, but if things are going well again, then I will give it a go," says Näf.

If Lukas Flückiger has a good start, he will also be one of the top contenders for winning the race.

Reto Indergand and Martin Fanger are also both capable of top results on the fast track of Solothurn.
