Tour de Beauce, Stage 3: Louder Finishes Fifth

18. June 2010

Mont Mégantic, Canada

Jeff Louder's intent to support his better-placed teammates led to him making the day's breakaway and an eventual fifth-place finish for the BMC Racing Team on Stage 3 Thursday at the Tour de Beauce.

Conserved Energy For The Finish

Riding in a six-man break, Louder said he tried to save himself for the summit finish at Mont Mégantic. "I came up a bit short, but I think it's a positive sign after coming off a long break after the Giro," Louder said. "The team is working well together and although we haven't fulfilled out goals of a stage win, I'm seeing positive signs and am looking forward to the two circuit races this weekend." Marc De Maar (UnitedHealthcare) caught the shattered break and soloed to win the 154-kilometer stage.
