Hushovd Eighth At Vattenfall Cyclassics

25. August 2013

Norwegian road champion Thor Hushovd finished eighth for the BMC Racing Team in the bunch sprint that concluded Vattenfall Cyclassics Sunday.

Not Able To Sprint
Hushovd said he was not ideally placed in the final moments of the 246-km race. "I ended up alone because the guys had to work early because there were some attacks and then we brought it all back," Hushovd said. "I thought I had good position. But in the end, I just got boxed in. So I could never do my sprint. It's a shame because I felt really good. That's why I am a bit disappointed. I never had a chance to sprint." John Degenkolb (Team Argos-Shimano) took the win ahead of André Greipel (Lotto Belisol Team) and Alexander Kristoff (Katusha Team).
