'Hectic Sprint' Ends Paris-Tours

10. October 2010

Tours, France

Michael Schär's 32nd-place finish led the BMC Racing Team as Sunday's edition of Paris-Tours ended in a bunch sprint after 233 kilometers.

Helped By Teammates

Schär said he received great help from his teammates to make the final selection, but didn't contest the sprint. "In the last five kilometers, I wasn't feeling so good," Schär said. "It was a hectic sprint and I didn't take the big risk to do a better result because I know about my sprinting skills." Oscar Freire (Rabobank) won after Geoffroy Lequartre (Team RadioShack) was caught in the final 500 meters after soloing with 14 km to go.
