Dauphine Will Be Good Test For Evans

3. June 2011

Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, France

The Critérium du Dauphiné will provide a good measuring stick for Cadel Evans and the BMC Racing Team's preparation for the Tour de France. The eight-day race in France begins Sunday.

Lots of Testing

Three times a runner-up at this race (2007, 2008 and 2009), Evans said his training has gone well. "I've been doing a lot of testing with new equipment, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works and what improvements I need to make with my training and the new equipment," Evans said. The 2009 world road champion has won two of three stage races he has competed in this year. BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said with a prologue and a time trial, the race suits Evans. "It will be the last good test for Cadel and most of our guys who will be going to the Tour de France," Lelangue said.
