Péruwelz, Belgium

Taylor Phinney was the BMC Racing Team's best-placed rider (25th place) in the bunch sprint that ended Thursday's opening stage of Circuit Franco-Belge.

Hardest Stage Friday
Robbie McEwen (Team RadioShack) won the 178-kilometer race after the last rider of a three-man breakaway was hauled in with six kilometers to go. "No one lost time. That's the most important part," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said. "Tomorrow could be the most difficult stage of the race but the weather is really beautiful, with no wind. For that reason, I think will probably be another sprint." Friday's stage is 154 km and includes six categorized climbs.
