swiss cycling technology
Every BMC bike has a common denominator: the technologies that lie behind our striking but technically logical frames. We invite you to dive in to the fascinating world of Swiss Cycling Technology. Here are quick summaries of the key technologies for selected models: | ||
|
| Throughout, we avoid using the traditional carbon optic. Using only carefully aligned unidirectional fibers makes for even more accurately defined rigidity distribution. |
| The Carbon Nano Tube Composite developed by Easton achieves unprecedented material values by the admixture of microscopically small carbon tubes. | |
| Aerodynamically effective: the specially developed seattube with a wingshaped cross-section improves air resistance at a decisive point. | |
| BMC strives to extend a frame’s surface lines and load bearing profiles beyond its different structural elements. This provides for a homogenous distribution of forces and a harmonious design clarity. | |
| The Bonded Skeleton Concept distributes the forces at load bearing junctures and ensures an optimal bond between the tubes by providing a large adhesive surface. | |
| With its patented locking system, the Streampost represents the epitome of aerodynamic seat tube integration. | |
Typical BMC features
Bottom bracket as the core of BMC’s frame stiffness and the BMC specific tube shapes – the racemaster SLX 01 also uses the maximum width of the bottom bracket where it joins up with the down tube, seat tube and chain stays. The SLX01 tube shapes which are radically accentuated and designed span the full width of the bottom bracket giving the final product its unique BMC identity.

BSC bonded skeleton concept
BSC bonded skeleton concept – BMC’s brand defining technical and functional advancement. By splitting the top tube before its joint with the seat tube, we obtain an ideal distribution of forces. The bonded skeleton comprises the seat tube area distributing the forces across a larger surface allowing for a very stiff and perfectly safe bonding point. The seat stays are attached to the seat tube along the same principles.

continuous Edge, race in style (continuous lines)
Sensually complete, with aerodynamic and uninterrupted contoured lines from the top tube all across the head tube, down tube and the chain stays to the outer edge of the rear drop outs. The subtle detail of the continuous edged design pronounces the suggested nimbleness of the SLX 01. It also displays the love and attention paid to detail.

Streampost 73.5 intelligent state of the art
engineering precision for aerodynamics
Streampost 73.5 state of the art engineering precision for aerodynamics – We love clever solutions. The tear-dropped cross section of the integrated seat post that is continued along the airfoil down tube is always perfectly and aerodynamically adjusted. This is made possible through the intelligent angle lock clamping system allowing for the maximum degree of adjustability. BMC has applied to patent the Streampost 73.5 with its current status being: patent pending.

carbon arc
CNT carbon arc for comfort and handling – the cushioning element that allows for comfortable but also amazingly safe and controlled riding on this enormously responsive racing machine. The carbon arc hits the spot in all the right places by arching all the way from the fork across the head tube, along the top tube and the seat stays.

aluminium trident for unlimited speed
With the racemaster frame we take a radical new course. We have made a conscious decision to go against the partially irrational trend of full carbon frames. We strongly believe that an aluminium bottom bracket and aluminium tubing for all tubes that originate at the bottom bracket like a trident serve to provide uncompromising stiffness and efficient transmission of forces. By employing a 7005 Aluminium alloy, hydo-formed and triple butted, we can create an optimally thin and light weight form. This, together with the strong bottom bracket, gives the Race Master its superior power transmission values.
