Carbon Nano Tubes

Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs)

CNTs are structures made from carbon atoms arranged into an array of pentagons and hexagons in a similar pattern as found on a soccer ball. They can be made into tubes with a diameter of one billionth of a meter (a nanometre). Due to their size, surface area, geometry and purity, CNTs are much stronger than carbon fibres or metals that are used production today. NASA has referred to CNTs as the most resilient material of all time.
