Sven Riederer again among the best in the world!

12. September 2011

Sven Riederer has underlined his strong performances in the current season with a sensational second place at the Grand Final in Beijing (CHI) between the two dominating athletes from the World Championship Series, the Brownlee brothers (GBR).

After Riederer reached the podium in third place in Sydney and Kitzbühl, he has even managed to improve by the end of the season. The athlete from Zurich is thus one of the few top athletes in the field who can stand up to the Brownlee brothers. With solid performances in swimming and cycling, Riederer stayed in the competition and at the end had the second-best run of the day which clocked in at under 30 minutes (!) for 10 kilometers. Riederer is on-track for the Olympic Games in London and is a candidate to win a medal at next season's biggest highlight. In the World Championship Series, the athlete from the ewz power team has a strong 4th place behind the Brownlee brothers and last year's World Champion Javier Gomez. He thus once again proves his ability to be in top form over an entire season, which is noteworthy considering the current level of performance in the Olympic triathlon. After Beijing, Riederer will start at the WCS in Yokohama (JAP) this weekend. This event could not take place in the spring due to the nuclear disaster in Fukushima and will count toward the overall standings this coming year.
