Roger Rinderknecht forth at the 4X world championship

5. September 2010

After a strong performance in the qualification and elimination races, the athlete from Winterthur missed a top three at the 4X world championship race.

The chances to win a medal or even the title were good for Roger Rinderknecht: the native of Zurich won the qualification race and showed convincing performances during the elimination races. A bad start destroyed all the chances for the world cup race winner at Val di Sole to win a medal. Roger Rinderknecht attributes his misfortune to the bad light conditions which disturbed him already during the previous races. Vainly Roger Rinderknecht tried to make up the leeway on his opponents, which was pretty hopeless without any mistakes of his competitors.

For Roger Rinderknecht the forth place at the 4X WC in Mont-Saint Anne was his third ranking at this place what disappointed him after having won the qualification race. Although he missed the medal ranks his qualification for the final of the 4X WC shows his high-level qualities in 4X races. Nonetheless, the BMC athlete stays confident for the world championships held next year in Champéry, where he will do everything to upgrade this year's result.
