Tour of Belgium: Sprint Opportunity

23. May 2011

Buggenhout, Belgium

The BMC Racing Team takes its classics squad to the Tour of Belgium intent on contesting the sprints and infiltrating breakaways that are likely to unfold in the five-day race that begins Wednesday.

Day-To-Day Approach
A prologue, followed by four road stages should suit Greg Van Avermaet, who has top 10 finishes here three of the past four years. "There are some sprint stages and some selective stages," BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said. "All the guys are in good condition. We will always try to be in every move. So day-after-day, we will decide who are the protected guys." John Murphy, fresh off a sixth place finish at Sunday's Skoda Velothon Berlin, said the sprint stages will favor the BMC Racing Team. "Greg and I will look to make something happen there," he said. "The prologue should also be a good shot for me."
