Tour of Austria, Stage 4: Tough Finish

7. July 2010

Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, Austria

Florian Stalder and Chris Butler rode to 30th and 31st placings, respectively, for the BMC Racing Team Wednesday on the toughest stage of the Tour of Austria.

Butler Sheltered Well
Stalder said the finishing climb of the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain and one of the tallest Alpine peaks, was very hard. "And, unfortunately, at 20 kilometers, (it was) a bit too long for me," Stalder said. Butler said good teamwork helped him leading to the climb. "They took extra care of me to make sure I didn't get popped in the crosswinds beforehand," Butler said. Riccardo Ricco (Ceramica Flaminia) won his second stage and kept the overall lead. Stalder (25th, at 11:06) is the BMC Racing Team's top rider overall.
