Tour de Romandie, Stage 4: A Hard Day

1. May 2010

Châtel, France

Chad Beyer of the BMC Racing Team survived Saturday’s wet and rainy race through the mountains to the finish in France to hang onto his lead in the sprint classification at the Tour de Romandie.

Final Stage Tomorrow

Although no BMC Racing Team rider placed in the top 20 on the stage (won by Simon Spilak of Lampre), Beyer’s lead in the green jersey competition was not challenged. BMC Racing Team Assistant Director René Savary said although the plan to help Alex Moos climb into the top 10 overall was not a success, keeping Beyer in the lead was the ultimate goal. “It appears that mathematically, Chad needs only to finish the final stage tomorrow to win the classification,” Savary said.
