Tour de Romandie, Stage 3: Looking Ahead

29. April 2011

Neuchatel, Switzerland

Saturday's 20-kilometer time trial at the Tour de Romandie looms large for Cadel Evans and Steve Morabito. The BMC Racing Team riders are among more than a dozen riders within a minute of the lead.

Challenging Time Trial

Evans slipped one spot in the overall standings after Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) won Friday's stage and a time bonus. Pavel Brutt (Katusha) still leads with Vinokourov second (at :32), Damiano Cunego third (at :38) Evans fourth (at :42) and Morabito sixth (at :50). "I'm getting better and better," Evans said. "It's been good so far, so I have every reason to believe I'm going into the time trial to do something on GC and even for the stage." Morabito said: "It will be a really hard time trial, particularly with some climbs  at the start and then up-and-down after that. It's going to be hard to keep the speed high."
