BMC Racing Team Has Options For Binche-Tournai-Binche

1. October 2012

Greg Van Avermaet and Adam Blythe offer the BMC Racing Team a pair of options for Tuesday's edition of Binche-Tournai-Binche, Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said.

Recovery From Lombardia
"The finish is not so easy," Verbrugghe said of the 200.3-kilometer race that ends with five laps of a 16 km circuit. "But with Greg and Adam, we have two possibilities. It could be a finish with a break with some strong guys or it could be a sprint on cobblestones." Blythe racked up four top five finishes from field sprints in September, including runner-up Sunday on the final stage of Circuit Franco-Belge. Van Avermaet had second-place finishes at GP de Québec and GP de Wallonie last month and was riding in the lead group Saturday at a rain-soaked edition of Il Lombardia until the final climb. "Lombardia was a hard race with really bad weather," Van Avermaet said. "I hope I can recover well which will not be so easy after a hard classic. Hopefully I'll have good legs for Binche and especially Paris-Tours (Sunday). I hope to end the season with a good feeling. That's always nice."
