BMC Racing Team Fields Experienced Line-Up For E3

The BMC Racing Team's roster for Friday's edition of E3-Harelbeke includes three riders who have finished on the podium of the race that is now a part of the WorldTour calendar.

Alessandro Ballan finished second here in 2006, Marcus Burghardt was third in 2007 and Greg Van Avermaet was third in 2008. They will be joined by Adam Blythe, Philippe Gilbert, George Hincapie, Thor Hushovd and Michael Schär for the 203-kilometer race in Belgium. Hushovd said he isn't putting pressure on himself as he returns from illness that kept him out of Milan-San Remo. "I was pretty sick last week so it was hard to do any training," he said. "Now my body is getting back to normal again. I think Harelbeke will just be to race and see if my body is working and what I need to find my normal level for Gent-Wevelgem (on Sunday)." BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said with good weather forecast, he expects a fast race. "We have a few guys recovering from crashes in San Remo but this will be good preparation a week before Flanders," he said.
