BMC Racing Team At Home In California

11. May 2011

Santa Rosa, California

The BMC Racing Team will field a roster for the Amgen Tour of California that includes four Americans. The eight-day race in the team's home state begins Sunday.

Bookwalter Returns
Reigning U.S. national time trial champion Taylor Phinney will be joined by three-time U.S. national road champion George Hincapie and fellow Americans Brent Bookwalter and Jeff Louder. Steve Morabito will look to improve on his team-leading 12th place finish a year ago. "He's riding with the best climbers, but the real key for him will be to race a good time trial," Assistant Director Michael Sayers said. Brent Bookwalter makes his return after breaking his collarbone March 26 at the Volta a Catalunya. "I've been feeling better and better each week," Bookwalter said. "It's no secret which stages will be most decisive, but I'm sure there will be some twists and turns and unexpected things along the way."
