Tour of Belgium: Murphy 16th In Prologue

25. maggio 2011

Buggenhout, Belgium

Former U.S. national criterium champion John Murphy placed 16th to lead the BMC Racing Team Wednesday in the 5.6-kilometer prologue of the Tour of Belgium.

'Good Effort'

"It was a good effort for me, so I'm happy with it.," Murphy said after powering his BMC TT02 time machine to a time 12 seconds behind winner Lieuwe Westra (Vacansoleil). "I'm not a time trial specialist, so to finish toward the front is always a plus." BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said windy conditions that are expected for Stage 1 might disrupt what is expected to be a sprint finish.
