Cadel Evans of the BMC Racing Team climbed back into the top 10 overall Saturday at Tirreno-Adriatico with eighth place on Stage 4. With three days to go, Evans is sixth, 26 seconds off the lead.

Burghardt Led The Chase

Michele Scarponi (Androni Giocattoli) soloed away to win the stage and assume the overall lead. Chasing hard, Evans arrived with a group 17 seconds later. The world champion was helped in the last hour by BMC Racing Team teammate Marcus Burghardt, who led the chase to catch a breakaway group. Sunday’s 234 km stage includes the 35 km ascent of the Forca di Presta mountain pass.
