Scheldeprijs Is An Opportunity For Sprinters

5. aprile 2010

Antwerp, Belgium

The Belgian semi-classic Scheldeprijs will be an opportunity for the BMC Racing Team’s sprinters to test their legs while also serving as a final tune-up for Paris-Roubaix.

‘No Bad Cobblestones’

Wednesday’s 205.4 km race features one loop of a 156 km course, followed by three shorter laps of a 16.4 km circuit. The past four years, the race has been decided in a bunch sprint. “There’s no climbs, no big difficulties and no bad cobblestones,” BMC Racing Team Director Sportif John Lelangue said. “For some of the guys, it’s good to have one day of competition between Flanders and Roubaix. But mostly it’s an opportunity for a sprinter like Alexander Kristoff to test himself in a mass sprint.”
