Critérium du Dauphiné, Stage 5: No Problems

10. giugno 2011

Les Gets, France

Cadel Evans didn't concede any time to his nearest rivals Friday on the first of three straight mountain-top finishes at the Critérium du Dauphiné. The result means the BMC Racing Team's leader kept his second place in the overall standings.

Queen Stage Saturday

Evans finished in a group of 17 riders that included race leader Bradley Wiggins (Sky Pro Cycling), nine seconds behind Christophe Kern (Team Europcar), who soloed to the win. In the overall standings, Evans trails Wiggins by 1:11 heading into the penultimate queen stage, a 192.5-kilometer race that includes six categorized climbs. "Today was not the most difficult day," BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said. "It was important to always be moving to a good position with Cadel to avoid problems and not lose time."
