BMC Racing Team Seeks Stage Wins In Switzerland

10. giugno 2011

Lugano, Switzerland

Racing in the home country of its title sponsor, the BMC Racing Team begins the Tour de Suisse Saturday with its eye on winning stages.

Final Tour Preparation
The nine-day race that includes two individual time trials will also serve as good preparation for the riders who are competing to make the BMC Racing Team's nine-man squad for the Tour de France, BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said. "We're going to try to go for stages," he said. "Perhaps Johann Tschopp can do something in the general classification, but it's not our main goal." Marcus Burghardt won two stages here last year and Mathias Frank earned the King of the Mountain and Sprint classification titles. "For sure it would be nice to win a stage again, but I know to win, everything must be 100 percent, including the luck you always need," Burghardt said.
